Introduction

OCB’s Open Badminton Tournament is organized by the OCB Badminton Club, aiming to create a friendly playground for networking and connection among staff from OCB Bank as well as other banks, financial institutions, and investment funds in Ho Chi Minh City.

Participants

  • All OCB employees working at HO and business units in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Family members of OCB employees
  • Staff working at banks, financial institutions, and VCs/investment funds in Ho Chi Minh City
  • Guests invited by the organizing team

Registration Period

From December 24, 2025 to January 5, 2026, or until 24 teams are registered.

Registration Fee

600k/team. All fees collected will be used to organize the tournament (court rental, referees, media, shuttlecocks, etc.). Any remaining funds after the tournament will go towards the after party.

Tournament Format

  • Teams will be randomly drawn into groups, depending on the number of registered teams.
  • All group-stage, quarterfinal, and semifinal matches will be played as 1 game to 21 points (sudden death at 21).
  • A win earns 3 points, a loss earns 0 points.
  • From each group:
    • The top 2 teams advance to the Championship Bracket.
    • The bottom 2 teams advance to the Consolation Bracket.
    • Both brackets follow the same knockout format.
  • Example
    • There are 2 groups:
      • Group A: Teams 1, 2, 3, 4
      • Group B: Teams 5, 6, 7, 8
    • After round-robin play, the rankings are:
      • Group A: 2, 4, 3, 1
      • Group B: 7, 8, 5, 6
    • So:
      • Teams 2, 4, 7, 8 move to the Championship Bracket to compete for the title.
      • Teams 3, 1, 5, 6 move to the Consolation Bracket, competing for their own championship.
  • Consolation Final: 1 game to 31 points (sudden death at 31)
  • Championship Final:
    Best of 3 games, each to 21 points
    The team that wins 2 out of 3 games will be crowned Champion 🏆

Prizes

  • Championship (1st Place): Free after party entry for both team members
  • Runner-Up (2nd Place): 50% off after party entry for both team members (2 attend, pay for 1)
  • Consolation Champion: 50% off after party entry for both team members (2 attend, pay for 1)

Tournament Completion Certificate

All players who participate in the tournament will receive a medal and an e-certificate of completion.
